2021 Drilling Industry Awards - recognising excellence and achievement!
ADIA’s 2020 awards featured four different categories which we will be carrying over into 2021. All categories had some very worthy winners, and we expect that the high calibre of nominations will again be received this year.
Companies can make nominations in the following categories:
This award will be looking for a driller who demonstrates excellence in contract drilling, including implementation of solutions to increase production, client relations and safety, and provides up and coming team members with learning support and inspiration.
This award is also open to senior drillers and supervisors.
The 2021 Driller of the Year is sponsored by Metzke.
The 2020 winner was Shaun Lever from Topdrill
This award will recognise a driller with less than 5 years’ experience and who is already demonstrating that they have what it takes to excel in the role. They are consistently achieving their targets, taking good care of their equipment, maintaining site compliance and showing respect for other team members.
The 2021 Young Drilling of the Year Award is sponsored by SREPS
The 2020 winner was James Harrington from Harrington Drilling.
Diversity in the workplace is an increasing component of our industry and is also highly recognised and encouraged by many clients. This award is open to any woman who is directly involved in field operations and could be an offsider, driller, fitter or other similar role.
The judges will no doubt look for someone who is a stand-out role model for other women considering entering the industry.
The 2021 Woman of the Year is sponsored by Impact Drilling Services.
The 2020 winner was Danielle Bailey from Easternwell Minerals.
Along with the accompanying prestige and recognition that come with an award win, each of the above winners will receive a complimentary pass to ADIA’s next major conference event, plus airfares and accommodation.
This award has a broad field and submissions are welcome from both drilling contractors and manufacturers and suppliers alike. The judges will be looking for something that is already being used in the field and with substantiated benefits for rig crew safety.
It doesn’t necessarily have to be a hardware item and could be software, communications or similar, providing that it is used around the rig site.
The safety award winner will have bragging rights for 12 months and we will also include a full-page company advertisement and associated editorial in Australasian Drilling magazine.
The 2021 Safety Innovation of the Year is sponsored by Meridio Solutions.
The 2020 winner was Ausdrill for their Automated Grade Control Sampling System.
Winners will be named at DRILL 2022 Conference Dinner on Wednesday, May 18.
Reviewing the nominations and picking the winners will be done by an independent judging panel to be made up of ex-industry personnel who are no longer actively working for any company.
The panel members will likely change each year and we welcome any volunteers who would like to be involved this year to come forward. Contact Peter if you would like to get involved.
Nomination forms for each award category can be found below. Nominations are open to members only. To nominate someone, download and complete the forms and return before them via email before Friday, February 18 2022.
